Another Amelia Island is in the history books and while Porsche was not the featured marque this year there was still plenty for fans to ogle at. Whether it was on the show field or in the auctions, Porsche was well represented. Fortunately, we had a few contributors at the event and the albums below are but a sampling of the Porsches shown on the field and up for sale. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Our first album comes courtesy of a photographer we first introduced you to last year. T.J. Kessler is a Sophmore at Lakeside High School in Atlanta. His love of photography and his knowledge of Porsche comes naturally. He is the son of Lynn and Tom Kessler, owners of a 1974 911 Carrera, and the grandson of Betty Jo and Leonard Turner who for more than 40 years were the moving forces behind Porsche Panorama Magazine. Our second album comes courtesy of long-time FLATSIXES.com contributor Brett Sloan. Brett was at Amelia Island to watch over the 1988 Porsche 959 Sport he and his dad (Richard Sloan of Sloan Cars) had brought down for the Gooding & Company auction. Turns out their 959 set a new world record for a 959 with a final price, including buyer’s premium of $1,100,000. Here’s the auction through Brett’s lens.
