Normally, I associate ‘The Price is Right’ with sick days. It is that lone mid-day beacon of entertaining television to watch from the comfort of your couch swathed in blankets and the heater cranked up while your muscles ache and your head throbs from flu-like symptoms. I can’t remember healthily watching an episode of The Price is Right since I was young enough to have summers off of school. That said, I may have to make it a priority to watch the show now that I know they’ll be giving away a Porsche next week. Heck, California isn’t that far away, I could probably go be an audience member.
More than $500,000 in cars will be given away next week. In addition to the beautiful silver 991 Carrera, they’ll also be giving away an Audi R8, a BMW 640i convertible, a Jaguar XK convertible, and a Mercedes-Benz SL550 convertible. I can’t help but notice that four of the five of those ‘dream cars’ are made in Germany. Obviously, there is a chance that none of these cars will actually be won, and of course, contestants would have to pay taxes on their winning, including any of these ‘dream cars’. Daytime Emmy Award-winning game show THE PRICE IS RIGHT, daytime’s #1-rated series and the longest-running game show in television history, will feature its first ever “Dream Car Week,” beginning Monday, Nov. 18, (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET; 10:00-11:00 AM, PT) on the CBS Television Network. Contestants will have the chance to play a pricing game for the chance to win a dream car each day of the week. The luxury vehicles, combined worth more than $500,000, include a Porsche 911 Carrera, a Mercedes-Benz SL 550 convertible, a BMW 640i convertible, a Jaguar XK touring convertible and an Audi R8 V8 Coupe Quattro. In addition, contestants will have the opportunity to win more than a million dollars in cash and prizes.
