In a reader poll held by the USA Today, our favorite aircooled Porsche show has been nominated and voted into the top ten (sitting at #8 as I write this) car shows in America. Facing competition from the Italian eggheads voting for ‘Concourso Italiano’, and the hot rodder baby boomers voting for ‘Back to the 50s’ or ‘Woodward Dream Cruise’, and the staid and stodgy voting for various Concours d’Elegance, it is Luftgekühlt that stands alone as the laid back yet exceedingly impressively attended car show for real enthusiasts. There is no automotive brand with as great a following as Porsche, and no enthusiasts quite so enthusiastic as those of the aircooled persuasion. It would only make sense that the car show with the best cars, best attendees, and best event organizers should win the title of best, right?
You can vote for Luftgekühlt on the USA Today’s 10best.com site. They allow one vote per day until voting ends, so there is still plenty of time to get our favorite Porsche show to the top of the listings. We certainly can’t let the 40’s hot rodder’s win, can we? And we’d never hear the end of it if the Italian folks took the win. As they say, vote early, and vote often and share this post on social media to help get the word out!
