The Porsche world was first introduced to Guy Newmark and his 1964 Porsche 356C back in June of 2013. At the time, Petrolicious ran a story on Guy’s Porsche, affectionately known as “Blue”, and described how it was a testament to the reliability of Stuttgart’s engineering. After nearly 50-years of consecutive ownership Blue had received 3 engine rebuilds and was closing in on the 1,000,000 mile mark. Then, tragedy struck and Guy’s beloved 356 was stolen. Fortunately for him, the internet came to the rescue and Blue was found within 3-days mostly unharmed.
Fast forward 3-years to today and Porsche just released the video above. In it, Guy explains his love affair with his 356 and what it means to have finally hit the 1,000,000 mile mark. The only thing that confuses me is that back in 2013, when Blue was stolen, it was reported to have 980,000 miles on it and Guy made it clear it was his everyday car. How is it, that 3-years later, we’re just hitting the 1,000,0000 mile mark? If anyone knows Guy or has any info on this small discrepancy, we would love to learn more.
