As I write this, Hurricane Irma is bearing down on Florida as a Category 3 storm with 120 mph winds. Expected to strengthen over the Florida Straits, meteorologists predict Irma will be back to a Category 4 storm by the time it hits the mainland Peninsula. Hopefully, if you’re one of the millions of people in Irma’s path, you’ve safely evacuated to higher and drier ground while enacting your personal disaster plan for your Porsche.
But what if you have more than one Porsche? More than a dozen? What if you’re a Porsche dealer with an inventory close to 300 cars (more than 90% of them Porsches)? How do you prepare for a storm like Irma?
For one Porsche dealership in South Florida, Porsche of West Broward, the answer was to bring their inventory inside. All 300 cars. According to the video above, the dealership itself is a Hurricane rated building. So, assuming no massive storm surges and associated flooding, their inventory should be safe (they weathered a Hurricane last year in the same manner). As Alex, the narrator of the video explains, “it’s like playing Tetris with Porsches”. Stay safe everyone!
