2017 marked the 26th running of the Tour Auto Optic 2000. Designed in the style of a classic rally, participants compete in a series of timed events on 4 circuits (Le Mans, Val de Vienne, Albi, Pau-Arnos) plus 11 special stages on closed roads.
This year’s event saw 200+ vintage cars participate along a route starting in Paris and then traveling south through Saint Malo, Nantes, Limoges and Toulouse, before ending on coast in Biarritz.
While there were many, many Porsches included in the entry list, the team of Jean Marc Bussolini and Patricia Bussolini piloted the only 1963 904 GTS among them.
While it’s not clear where along the route this video was taken, it does appear to be one of the “special stages” on a closed road. Watch and listen as this 904 tears through the French countryside at terrifying speeds down wet, narrow, tree-lined streets.

Good day,
I've only been in a 904 three or four times, each time piloted by Al Cadrobbi. Watching this was nearly as much fun, but lacked the smell of Castrol R. Thanks a lot!!

What a great video. The 904 is my dream car (and very likely to stay that way!)
The sound of the car is fantastic, and watching the ignition key G-meter was rather entertaining...
I was wondering if anyone would notice that and comment on it.
Glad to oblige! :-)
