Porsche Cars North America Sales By Model: August 2019

Porsche Cars North America sold 553 more cars in August of 2019 versus August of 2018. Much of this increase was carried by a massive increase in new Cayenne sales, while all other models experienced a small decrease year over year, even the perennially popular Macan. Cayenne was still in that transition phase last year between the outgoing model and the new, which explains why only 143 units sold a year ago. Year-to-date Porsche has sold 6.2% more units in 2019 than the same period of 2018. It’s looking like another record year for PCNA.

“It is humbling to see such a sustained level of customer excitement for Porsche so far this year. The next-generation Cayenne, in particular, is living up to its reputation as the sports cars in the SUV segment,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of PCNA.

While Porsche doesn’t split 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman sales apart in the monthly report, it quotes 718 Boxster sales as being up 2.7% this month over the same time in 2018. And don’t forget that Porsche is still selling the 991.2 generation cars here, and the new 992 will be hitting showrooms soon, which explains the less-than-half demand for 911 models.

Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned sales in the U.S. totaled 2,166 vehicles in August, up three percent year-over-year.
