Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo EPA range goes official

U.S.-bound Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo models are about to arrive and head to customers, so we now know the EPA-estimated range that owners will get on their new models. It’s right in the ballpark of what we would expect from a car like this, with this utility, but it does come with a caveat that might make it more enticing.

All Taycan Cross Turismos are 4 models, with all wheel drive. The base Taycan Cross Turismo 4 is rated at 215 miles. Coincidentally, that’s the same EPA-rated range as the 2021 Nissan Leaf Plus. There’s a bit more horsepower, and a bit more storage capacity, in the Taycan, though.

Folks who upgrade to the Cross Turismo 4S get a bump in power and performance, but the range remains locked in at 215 miles.

The Turbo model loses some range, obviously, with the range being reduced to 204 miles. While larger electric motors do consume more electricity, factors like wheel design can affect range.

Finally, at the top of the tree is the Turbo S Cross Turismo, rated at 202 miles. For an interesting comparison, the regular-bodied Taycan Turbo S is only carrying a 201-mile EPA rating for range.

We mentioned a caveat. While these EPA numbers are the official numbers on the window sticker, in independent range testing the regular Taycans were able to go a lot farther on a full change than what the sticker would indicate. Over at our sister site, EV Pulse, they talk about just how far people are going on a charge.

Obviously your mileage can and will vary, but if the Cross Turismo delivers the way the regular Taycan does, it’s very likely going to surprise and delight.
