Porsche’s Michael Mauer and Entire Design Team (Style Porsche) Win Red Dot Design Team of the Year 2012

Michael Mauer is used to awards at this point (he won the “red dot: best of the best 2012” earlier in the year for the design of the new 911) but it’s especially nice when your entire team is recognized too. Chosen in appreciation for their uninterrupted design performance, the Style Porsche design team (all 80 members) were awarded the “red dot: design team of the year 2012”.

“That we won both of these most renowned awards this year makes me and my team proud indeed,” said Michael Mauer, Director Style Porsche. “It means we pursue the right design philosophy. With our work, we have ensured that a Porsche has always been a signature Porsche for many decades – from the 911 up to the Cayenne. The quality of our design is founded on our brand values: tradition and innovation, sportiness and suitability for everyday driving. This unique combination and the conviction that good design has to be honest, functional and timeless constitute the foundation of our characteristic Porsche design language.”

Mauer drove the Porsche 911 onto the stage in the Alto Theatre in Essen to accept the award at the red dot gala
