Spied: TechArt GTstreet R Makes Your 911 Turbo Look As Fast As It Is

It’s hard to say that Porsche’s 992-generation 911 Turbo S has any problems whatsoever. If we were to determine one thing that might be “wrong” with it, we’d say it looks a bit too reserved for its horsepower rating. With over 700 horses on tap, it should look a little more wild, right? Well, it looks like TechArt agrees with us, as usual.

Spotted testing near Stuttgart, the new GTstreet R model is nearly ready for its close up. This wild supercar is likely to be officially unveiled in the coming weeks, but we got an early look at what TechArt is up to. It looks as bonkers as their usual products, but based on the 992 Turbo S it’ll probably be the best and fastest one yet.

The exterior of this Turbo S-based machine has been outfitted with a scad of carbon fiber parts, including new GT3 RS-style front fender extractor vents and flares, a massive new adjustable position spoiler out back, aero canards on the reshaped front bumper, and rear diffuser. Rather than glide through the air with poise like a standard 911 Turbo S, the GTstreet R beats the air into submission!

According to our spy photographer on the street, the TechArt delivers a deep booming exhaust note, more prominent than the Euro 5-neutered factory cans. It’s a nice look for the back of the car, as well.

The TechArt’s lightweight center lock wheels feature unique aerodynamic wheel discs around the outer edge. While these will definitely reduce aero wash from the wheels (much like Manthey Racing’s GT2 RS kit does for that car), there is bound to be a slight brake cooling disadvantage with these in place.

The Turbo S already packs 710 horsepower and 665 lb-ft of torque, so anything TechArt manages to add on top of that will be icing on the cake. I’d expect to see at least 800 horses from this performance package, but perhaps without the refinement of the standard Porsche. More power with more lag? I’d take that trade off.

TechArt doesn’t usually stop at the exterior, either. Expect a full level of interior mods as well. On the 991 version, the company offered bolt-in roll bars, carbon sport seats, handcrafted touch point materials, and gorgeously stitched fabrics  Where the Turbo S caters to customer comfort and speed, the GTstreet R brings in more hard-core track-ready sensibilities.

Is this the car for you? Think about just how much power you want, and whether or not you want to be 100% conspicuous wherever you go. If big power and ostentatious design appeal to you, this is your car!
