For a number of months the online shop at Porsche Driver’s Selection was “on holiday” as it went through a complete revamp. The new and improved site recently came back online with an easier to use interface, a whole host of new products and some very attractive price points.
As most of you know, Driver’s Selection has been a long time supporter of FLATSIXES.com and for that we’re greatful. This past week they sent us a sampling of some of their new products to try out for ourselves.
After opening the package we were thrilled to find the following four items, all new to the shop:

1:43 Scale Yellow 911 Carrera RS 2.7
It’s a bit hard to review a scale model car. As a collector, I don’t like to take them out of the package and as this car is new to the shop it’s new to our collection. It’s in 1:43 scale, made of medal with great detailing and features a true to life black interior. If you like to collect scale Porsche models, the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 belong on your shelf.

Rucksack – Racing Collection
This is, perhaps, my favorite new product. A bit smaller than your normal backpack, the rucksack is great for a day spectating at a race or to hold your personal items when headed to a DE event. Inspired by the design of the livery from the 919 Hybrid and 911 RSR, think of the rucksack as a space-saving backpack that actually folds up into its own front pocket. Made from 100% polyester, it has both a zip close and a drawstring. What’s even better is the price!

Men’s Polo Shirt – 911
Normally, other than jackets, I’m a bit hesitant to wearing shirts and other clothing items from Porsche. They always seem to heavily branded. I admit that I’m a bit of a “fan-boy”, but I don’t always want to shout it out by acting as a walking billboard. The nice thing about this polo is how well it fits and how subtly it’s branded. Don’t forget that Driver’s Selection product comes in a European fit so be sure to order a size larger than you would normally need (or at least check their sizing chart to verify what you’re ordering will fit).

Fan Windbreaker, Unisex – Racing Collection
Unless it’s the dead of summer in Austin, TX, there’s a good chance you’ll eventually need some type of jacket during a racing weekend. Usually a windbreaker will do. The problem is finding something both suitable and lightweight enough to include in your bag of essential gear. Part of the design, similar to the Rucksack, incorporates elements from Porsche’s racing liveries. As a result, the jacket not only looks good, the reflective elements add a needed safety feature for navigating busy track lots at night.
