Last month we introduced you to Nic Hunziker’s new “Art Car” project where he’ll be bartering art in order to build what he calls “the missing link between the 996.1 GT3 and the 996.2 GT3 RS” a 1999 GT3R Strassenversion. If you’re not yet familiar with the project you can check out our original post or head over to the project’s website for even more detail.
After a quick but thorough search, Nic and FLATSIXES.com contributor Brett Sloan were on their way to Nova Scotia to pick-up the donor car for this project, a 996 GT3 acquired through a lot of searching and the liberal use of original artwork to sweeten the deal. After a few technical delays, and some paperwork snafus, Nic and Brett made it to Canada and have been driving the GT3 cross-country back to LA. They’ve been chronicling that trip on Nic’s blog including a post for Days 1 & 2 and another for Days 3 & 4. At that point they switched to posting here at FLATSIXES.com and we presented Days 5 & 6 last week.
Now it’s on to Days 7 & 8
When we last left you, Nic and Brett had finished a visit to Chuck Stoddard’s private Porsche collection and were on their way through America’s heartland. Over the last two days they travelled from Omaha to Colorado (with a stop over in Denver) and then from Denver to Sedona Arizona. They spent the night in Sedona with plans to visit Chad McQueen in Palm Springs as they make their way back to L.A. As with the last post, Brett continues to document the trip with his camera while Nic adds some color to the photos by way of captions.
