This is the Porsche of RVs

Porsche Design lends a hand creating all sorts of products from kitchens to military vehicles to boats, just to name a few. With that in mind, I’m not sure why I was so surprised when I found an RV with styling from Porsche Design After all, I do own a Cayenne. 🙂

Seriously, Newell Coach Corp., a manufacturer of custom luxury motorhomes, announced it has just completed production of its first coach featuring an updated and innovative redesign by Porsche Design and the coach is now available for sale. The new model features high-intensity-discharge (HID) xenon projector headlights that are supplemented by “string-of-pearl” LED daytime running lights. It also includes a handsome rear-taillight redesign inspired by the “cathedral” taillights of the 1955 and 1956 Packard (interesting choice).

clockwise L to R, is a 2005 model year Newell, 2006 Porsche designed model, 2011 contract design, and the 2013 model year Porsche design rendering

This isn’t Newell’s first partnership with Porsche Design. In fact, they first offered the Newell P2000i back in 2006 . Back then a Porsche Designed RV from Newell would run you just a little over $1,000,000. Today, if you want a new one be prepared to part with almost twice that at $1,700,000+.
