We’ve been compiling the best Porsche models on ebay for almost a year now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. There is some great new stuff every two weeks, so check back often. We’ve tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including an early 356 Cab, a couple were picked simply for their outstanding paint color choice, a wonderful 993 Carrera 4S, and a race winning Grand Am car from an infamous Porsche team. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.
1. 1996 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera 4S For Sale
I’ve never been partial to Speed Yellow 993s (preferring a color like Arena Red or Mexico Blue), but this one looks like it might change my mind in a big way. It’s brash and loud, and looks ready for a weekend of playtime up in the mountains. As good C4S models become harder and harder to find, examples like this one will continue to rise in value. If you’ve wanted a widebody 993, you should probably get one sooner rather than later. It appears to be very original, and has very few miles on the odometer. Can’t ask for much more than that.
This is another example of an appropriately well done eBay sales photo shoot. Please, if you’re going to sell a car, especially a collector car, include a bunch of really nice professionally done photos. If you’re asking top dollar, you should put some effort into the car’s presentation.

2. Lime Green 1974 Porsche 911For Sale
I’ll admit, somewhat like the magpie, it was the bright color and shininess of this car that led me to click on it and include it in this week’s compilation. I’ve seen a couple of these early impact-bumper cars in this shade of green, and I love it so much. If you want to stand out in a crowd of Guards Red and Speed Yellow, this might just be the car for you.
There are a few little things that stick out as wrong to me, like the aftermarket door-mounted speakers. That being said, the car looks in otherwise fantastic condition. The seats are so nice, and that makes sense because the car has less than 70,000 miles on it.
There is quite an extensive and entertaining story of the car’s history in the eBay listing, if you’re so inclined.

3. 1954 Porsche 356 Pre-A Cabriolet For Sale
I’m not sure what it is about the Pre-A 356 models that really makes me gravitate toward them, but I just love these cars, especially the cabriolets. It was a simpler time for Porsche, and the cars were designed without the embellishment of the later B and C cars. It’s a straight forward design without a lot of unnecessary decoration. Like the argument for Oxfords over a pair of Brogues, the Pre-A cars are the most gorgeous of 356s, in my humble opinion.
This car has an non-original engine, non original wheels, and needs a little bit of TLC, so it might be able to be purchased at a relative bargain. Nice early open-top 356s are fetching major money right now, so this might be the best deal on the market.

4. Race Winning Magnus Racing #44 2012 911 (997) GT3 Cup Grand Am For Sale
If you’ve ever wanted to both own and race a piece of Porsche motorsport history, this might be your best chance. Magnus Racing hasn’t been around comparatively all that long, joining Grand Am just a few short years ago, but they’ve made a big name for themselves as the plucky little fan-favorite team that can pull off some amazing races.
This is the exact car that the team won the 6 hours race at Indianapolis with, and the very same one that carried them to the North American Endurance Championship title in 2012. Like I said, history.

5. Beautiful in blau: 1997 Porsche Boxster for sale
We’ve been championing the 2.5 liter early Boxsters for a little while now, and even purchased our own as a project car. They’re fantastic driving cars, and are well underrated in the market these days. The fun-per-dollar ratio is well favorable toward the buyer.
This car has a lot going against it, but a few things going for it. In the pros column, it’s quite cheap (as of writing this, the car is bid up to only $5,700), it’s a gorgeous shade of blue, and everything looks like it works. Negatives, however, are many. First, this is a tiptronic model, meaning its slower, less engaging, and more maintenance. Second, the paint on the front bumper is predictably shot and would need a repaint. Third, those wheels are horrendous, it really deserves better.
With different wheels, some paintwork, and a transmission swap, this might well be the perfect Boxster. I’d bet you could do all of that work and still keep costs below ten grand. That’s still a lot of car for 10K, and you’d have a nice unique color, too.

" Negatives, however, are many. First, this is a tiptronic model, meaning its slower, less engaging, and more maintenance." Please stop perpetuating this myth. Those of us, who drive and love our Tips, know that many stick owners go through a couple of clutch changes to one service of our Tips. As far as slower, yes in a straight line but they are just as agile as any other Boxster on a track, AX or a windy mountain road. Put the Tip in "M" and you can be just as engaged as a stick and your left foot can tap to the sound of the flat six. After owning my '99 Tip I wouldn't go back to a stick.
Everyone is allowed their opinions, but I've driven tip shifted Boxsters before, and found them slow, unengaging, and boring to drive. It's hard to call this a myth, in my humble opinion.
I'm not a fan. But, there's a butt for every seat, as they say.
Good comment Ronald, thank you!
Ya just gotta have an S and no Tip
