Will the New Porsche Cayman be Introduced at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show?

Late last week Porsche sent our a short and sweet release with the title of “Two Premieres Planned for 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show”. The release went on to say how the US continues as Porsche’s largest market with more than 28,226 vehicles delivered in the first 10 months of the year as an explanation for choosing LA for their premiers.

Of course, one of the two premiers is a “US” premier vs. a “World” premier and will feature the debut of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 in the US for the first time. What’s of more interest is the “world premier of a compact sports car”. While the release doesn’t expand any further with details, we’re fairly certain it should be the new Cayman. However, we’ve been surprised before. Regardless, we’ll have up to the minute details for you on Facebook and via Twitter. Stay tuned for more info.

  • Just returned from the PCA Escape to the Ozarks, and at the Saturday night banquet, Paul Gregor from PCNA/PAG confirmed that the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show will feature the introduction of the new Cayman.

    • Thanks, Lee. We had heard the same, but were unable to "report" on it as it was through unofficial challenges. Thanks for the confirmation. Much appreciated!
