This Slant-Nose Cayman Is Big In Japan

There are so many different ways to enjoy a Porsche, and nowhere is that more evident than in Japan. It takes a higher level of commitment to be a car enthusiast in Japan. Parking [and space in general] is at a premium, road taxes are incredibly high, and aside from race tracks and mountain roads, there isn’t much of an opportunity to really let a Porsche flat six sing. All of which means the Japanese enthusiast loves a heavy dose of style to go with their car’s substance. That’s why this Old&New slant nose kit ended up on this gorgeous 987 Cayman. I am forced to admit I’m immediately a fan of this combo.

I’ve seen the Old&New slant nose kit in person at SEMA events, but never on a mid-engine Porsche. It looks pretty well integrated. Obviously the 987 has the same front structure as the 997, so there’s no reason it wouldn’t work, but the slant nose has always been seen as a typically 911 thing. I’m glad someone took the dive to see what the finished product would look like. It works, and it wears it well.

I know a lot of you probably won’t appreciate the air suspension and the big wheels and body kit, but there’s a seat for every butt. In this case, I think this car looks incredible. The race-inspired wide fenders and slanted nose are just the right kind of wild, and it looks so elegant painted in the Panamera shade of crystal green metallic.

Sometimes it’s fun to see how they do it in other parts of the world. If you stick to your own microcosm of sports cars, you might not ever be inspired to try something new. Get out and see the world of Porsche, you never know what you might find. Check them out on instagram @wavysavvy_9010design. It’s worth a click.
