Ford and Porsche don’t share much, if anything, in the engineering and design departments. However, what they do share is the iconic Gulf livery in the world of motorsport. The fact that this 2006 Porsche Cayman is wearing Gulf colors is no coincidence. Instead it hints at the connection its making between Ford and Porsche. Only this time, the connection is much more than skin deep. You see, this 2006 Porsche Cayman came from the factory with a 3.4L Flat Six making 295 horsepower. Now, it makes 425 horsepower at the wheels from a Ford Racing “Aluminator” Coyote V8 Crate Motor. As Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire says, “It looks like LeMans, it sounds like Nascar, and, shockingly, it actually works properly.” This episode of “One Take” is a don’t miss.
