New Porsche Based Show Coming to SPEED TV

Porsche has partnered up with SPEED TV to produce a new show called “King of the Curve“. This new series pits three teams consisting of a celebrity, a professional driver and an every day Porsche owner in a battery of driving tests in the 2014 Porsche Cayman.

Celebrity drivers include Brian Austin Green, Will Fichtner and Dara Torres (each are past winners of the Celebrity Grand Prix Long Beach). Pro drivers participating are Patrick Long, Graham Rahal and Brian Vickers. The lucky Porsche enthusiasts (chosen as finalists in a contest held last December where 70 Porsche Cayman owners competed for the 3 amateur slots) are Carl Vanderschuit, Michael Pederson and Larry Sharp. The teams are broken up as follows:

Team Vickers Car # 20

Brian Vickers: NASCAR’s youngest champion and current driver Michael Waltrip racing.
William Fichtner: Film star featured in upcoming film with Johnny Depp, Lone Ranger.
Larry Sharp: Porsche Owner/Enthusiast

Team Rahal Car # 15

Graham Rahal: Indy Car star with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing
Dara Torres: 5 time Olympian in swimming, world record-holder and twelve-time Olympic Medalist.
Carl Vanderschuit: Porsche Owner/Enthusiast

Team Long Car # 45

Patrick Long: Porsche factory racecar driver since 2003.
Brian Austin Green: TV star in Desperate Housewives and Wedding Band.
Michael Pederson: Porsche Owner/Enthusiast

For more on each driver you can check out their bios over on the SPEED TV website.

The main star of the show is, of course, the all new 2014 Porsche Cayman. Each team was put through a series of challenges in the Cayman including, Threshold Braking, Slalom and an Autocross course. For more on the Cayman, check out the Code of the Curve web-site.

      • Indeed you do! I also realize that I am not adapting well to the 21st Century, but it is a big tent and room for everyone.

        • Chuck, you would have felt differently if you had been one of the finalists who got to compete and drive with Patrick, etc. With that said, it is, indeed, a very big tent.

  • Wow, they are really pushing the Cayman.
Must be getting ready for a flat 8 911 in a year or so...
