Anyone who attended Rennsport Reunion IV in 2011, or who followed our coverage here on FLATSIXES.com, knows it was an event for the ages. As Hurley Haywood said, “What are you going to do to top this?” Well, it looks like Porsche’s going to give it the old college try with Rennsport Reunion V. For months now we’ve been reading and hearing rumors about a possible event. Jut not enough fact. That changed this morning when Porsche dropped the video below.
Here’s what we know now.
“Rennsport will return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – Rennsport Reunion V will, once again, bring together an extraordinary gathering of significant Porsche vintage and current racecars, as well those who have designed, engineered and driven them to victory in the world’s most famous sports car races. The three-day program of on-track competition will be complemented by a Concours d’Elegance, which is open to invited race participants, and special activities celebrating each of the six decades of legendary Porsche racecars.”
While lacking specific details, you can be sure Porsche will start parsing out information over the coming weeks and months. As we know, you’ll know. For now, you might want to start thinking about making those hotel reservations. Rennsport Reunion V – October 9 – 11, 2015.
UPDATE: Porsche Rennsport Reunion V will assemble a wide variety of Porsche’s most historic racing models from the nimble mid-engine 550 Spyder of the mid-Fifties, through the mighty 917 and 956/962 of the Seventies and Eighties, to the highly successful 911 GT3 RSR and RS Spyder of the last decade. Special tribute will be paid to the car that embodies Porsche’s return to the top of sports car racing. The 919 LMP1 Prototype is the guarantee that Porsche motorsports – and Rennsport Reunion – have a successful future.

I was at Rennsport Reunion IV. There was nothing like this at all, and I plan on being at Rennsport V in full spades. We are very lucky it was chosen to return to last years location.
I was hoping Rennsport V would be staged somewhere in the Midwest, like Road America/Elkhart Lake, but...oh, well, maybe next year. I attended RS 1 and 3, and these events are "the best"...the Holy Grail for the faithful.

How can there be Rennsport Reunion V at Mazda Laguna Seca September 25-27, 2015, and Rennsport Reunion V at Mazda Leguna Seca October 9-11, 2015?
Richard, there can't. That's a very old post and was followed with this one. http://flatsixes.wpengine.com/porsche-culture/porsche-car-shows/rennsport-reunion-v-date-change/
However, you bring up a good point. That old post should be updated. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Thanks for the update.
I'll be in California September 25-27 and at the Reunion for part of September 26 -- so I was a little concerned!
