Video: How To Build A Porsche Track Tire Trailer With Larry Kosilla

It’s always interesting to see the kinds of custom solutions that a detail intensive guy like Larry will incorporate into something that would otherwise be simple. Being that Mr. Kosilla’s job is to see the minute details where most of us would just gloss over them, the build of his tire hauling trailer had to be inch-perfect. If you have spent some time around the track, and especially around Porsches at the track, you’ll start to notice the interesting solutions people come up with for hauling their slicks to the track and back home again. We’ve seen a number of Porsche people use the roof rack systems that are mentioned in the video, but tire trailers are more common. A number of those trailers probably shouldn’t be on the road, and further still have mounting systems that are detrimental to the finish of the wheels. If you don’t care about your track wheels looking good, that’s fine and dandy but as mentioned before, Larry cares.

Kosilla’s 964 practically qualifies as a work of art, so it’s hard to believe his tire trailer would be anything less than the best. Starting with a common single-axle trailer, it is rapidly transformed into an excellent piece with a custom diamond-plate lock box, damage free tire locking system, high mount third brake light, and European-style separate turn signals. Larry and his friends go above and beyond, and the end result is pretty darn cool. Check out the video below, and don’t forget to check out other great videos on AMMO NYC’s YouTube channel.

Be sure to stick around for the end to see a lightly humorous GoPro fail.
