This video drew me in from the very beginning. What’s not to like? Good production values, a host (Charles Morgan) with strong presentation skills and one of Porsche’s best road going production cars, ever. The 993 GT2. As I began the video I wrote the title to this post as it seemed that’s the direction we were going in. However, the longer I watched, the longer I waited. Sure the cinematography is excellent and the video is eminently watchable. The problem in my mind, however, is two-fold. First, Morgan never really give specifics. For instance he say “it’s very light and has amazing technology“. Well, how light is it and what’s the amazing technology? Second, and perhaps more importantly, the 993 featured in the video is apparently not an original GT2. Instead, it’s a GT2 built out of parts by an enthusiast/collector. It may be close to the real thing, but it’s not really, is it? Am I being too critical? I mean I did watch the whole video, twice, and I loved the ending. It just seems there was a missed opportunity here to give lots of great technical info and specifications. What do you think?

It's a replica, but a nice one at that - like a good movie.
Let's call it what it is a replica, not the real deal. I hate tacked on fenders, they look like they are put on with a nail gun. The massive whale tail isn't for everybody, I prefer a sleeker look where the spoiler is integrated and rises up when needed. Wouldn't be my first choice for that model Porsche.
This concept is spot-on, but the application leaves you wanting OEM. The boy-racer steering wheel, in lieu of the (wonderful looking and feel ) real thing, is indicative of the ersatz application.
Thanks for the heads-up though.
Great car and fun video to watch. Geez I held my breath as he was barreling down the bumpy road and the front splitter appeared to almost bounce along. But he didn't take it out - not in the final edited cut anyway.
Porschephiles crave technical details. Where are the details?
Porsches love open roads on which to open up the throttles. The Lake Country is more suited for horse carts and jeeps. Terrible roads...
And what's up with a 60 year-old man wearing teeny-bopper clothing?
Not feeling the emotion either...
I've seen a real one of these (in Arizona, US). Appearance wise this car looks right, and I'm sure technically it has all the right parts in the right places. No, it's not the "real deal" but the real thing is so incredibly rare that you'll probably never see one in your life.
I think the video is pretty bad, with (as others have pointed out) few technical details. It's more like a video of the love affair this guy has with this car. Less music and more engine noise. And really? driving that thing on a paved cow path? Oy vey.
