Some days you’re the bug, and some days you’re the windshield. We’ll let you decide which one best describes the Porsche owner in this story.
According to the story we read, 73-year-old Job Taylor was entering his local car wash when the accelerator of his 2014 911 Carrera Cabriolet became “stuck”. Despite pushing on the brakes, Taylor and his Porsche crashed into one of the supports causing the roof to collapse on both him and his 911.
Remarkably, while the Porsche has extensive damage, Taylor himself escaped with only minor scrapes and bruises.
Jeff Dilauro, the owner of the car wash said, “We got him out of the car because the roof was held on by one bolt so we knew that was going to come down if anything moved. He was upset and distraught, I know him, he’s a friend. He was upset because his car was totaled.”
If you watch the video above you can see, right around 33 seconds in, how there’s a large beam just to the side of the driver’s side seat. It’s really a miracle that Taylor wasn’t more seriously hurt. Job, if you’re reading this, we hope you get your 911 fixed or replaced soon so you’re back on the road enjoying the Cape and top down driving this summer.
