We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1974 Porsche 914 Can Am Creamsicle Limited Edition For Sale
It’s thought that some 1000 Can Am 914s were built by the factory. Of those 1000, according to the Can Am Registry, less than 261 are known to still exist. So, other than a 914-6, these Can Am 914s are truly collector’s items. The one for sale in this listing has been on eBay for a while now. It actually was bid up to over $17,000 last week before the auction closed. However, I’m unsure why the 914 wasn’t sold as that number was clearly above the reserve. Unfortunately, this relisted auction doesn’t mention what happened. We should note, this is clearly a project as there is mention of frame work needed. However, from our research, it appears this is a true 914 LE (at least the VIN appears on the registry). Regardless, be sure to do your own homework and make sure you know what you’re getting into. For the right person this could be an excellent project and even better collector Porsche.

2. 2005 Porsche 911 Turbo S For Sale
Most 1995 Turbo S cnvertible models we see are usually liveried in Silver paint over black interior. The seller contends that only 300 or so cabriolets made it to the US, so this black over brown example could be quite rare. The odometer currently shows nearly 90,000 miles (not high for a Turbo, but perhaps takes it out of contention as a future collectible). The seller claims the Porsche to be in “very, very nice [condition] all around” and the pictures look to agree with that. Making 450 horsepower, this 12-year old Porsche will keep up, and even outpace, some super cars of today.

3. 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo For Sale
If you’re into body kits and “interesting” color wraps, we have the Porsche for you. This 2008 911 Turbo features an Acid Green removable wrap (original color is black) with HRE wheels, a Cobb Tune and a Vorsteiner body kit (among other upgrades). According to the listing, the seller has “invested” over $40k in upgrade not including install/labor charges. It’s an interesting 911 for the right person, that’s for sure. The only question in our mind is should those upgrades command such a premium in the aftermarket? We’ll just watch the bidding and that should give us our answer.

4. 1978 Porsche 911 Targa SC For Sale
The seller of this Porsche definitely believes in the power of pictures as his description consists of one short sentence. Maybe it’s that simplicity that attracted me, or maybe it’s the yellow over tan interior. Either way, this “looks” like an honest 911. With that said, buyer beware. Ask questions, see if there’s a service history and have a PPI performed.

5. 1972 Porsche 914 For Sale
If there was ever any doubt that a “rising tide floats all boats”, just look at the ascension of 914 pricing. This particular example, admittedly one that appears to be in excellent condition, has already been bid up to 16,000 (with 30 bids) and has a buy it now price of $23,900. 3 short years ago this was a $10k car at most and maybe even a lot less. The seller provides lots of pictures, but not a huge amount of information. From what we can tell by the pictures this 914 looks to be exceptionally clean and perhaps worthy of its large asking price. Take a look for yourself and you decide.
