For those who yearn for the golden years of motorsport, the new 911 Speedster Heritage Design Package might take them back to simpler, brighter times. With striking GT Silver Metallic paint covering most of the Speedster’s hide, white bumpers, and “Gumball” style graphics, there’s a clear reference to the customized 356 racers of the past.
The 20-inch wheel and brake package are also styled in retro fashion. The center lock wheels of the 911 Speedster are painted in Platinum Satin, though they can also be ordered in Silver, and the PCCB calipers are no longer finished in loud yellow, but a subtle black. Gold “Speedster” designations and classic Porsche crests dot the car’s hide and the cabin.
The interior is just as striking; finished in a classic two-tone scheme with black and cognac leather. Porsche historic emblems are embossed into the headrests, and the seatbacks match the exterior shade of paint. The combination of classic styling and modern tech, brought together with tasteful understatement, give the Speedster another dollop of exclusivity—not that it was lacking any to begin with.
If you happen to get on the list for one of the 1948 Speedster examples sold later this year, will you be ordering yours in the Heritage Design Package, or do you spring for a Paint To Sample car? You need to answer these questions now, because the order books for the 911 Speedster open up in just a couple of weeks!
