Porsche has signed a new sponsorship agreement with Friends of Laguna Seca, naming Porsche the Official Car of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. The partnership aims to support revitalization efforts at the famed motorsports venue while establishing a long-term presence that deepens Porsche’s ties to the West Coast.
A major component of the partnership will be the creation of a new Porsche Driving Center at the track. Set to open in 2026, the center will offer a range of programs, from beginner-level courses focused on driving fundamentals to advanced sessions for experienced drivers seeking to refine their performance behind the wheel of a Porsche.
Laguna Seca has long held significance for the brand. Since 2011, it has hosted four editions of Rennsport Reunion, Porsche’s premier global enthusiast event. The most recent, Rennsport Reunion 7 in 2023, drew over 91,000 attendees—marking it as the highest-attended event in the reunion’s history. Porsche has also made headlines at the circuit in competition, including its 600th and 601st IMSA victories and a production car record set by the Taycan Turbo GT in early 2024.
The sponsorship will officially begin with Porsche serving as the safety car provider during the upcoming IMSA race weekend at Laguna Seca, May 9–11. The event will be broadcast live on NBC on Sunday, May 11, at 3 p.m. EDT.
