RM recently updated their site with pictures and bare bones information (with more to follow in the coming days) on certain lots to be sold during their auction at the Amelia Island Concours on March 9, 2013. One of the more exciting Porsches for sale is this 1970 908/3 in Gulf Livery.
RM has yet to update their catalog with any info other than the Chassis Number (004) and some incredible pictures, but details should soon follow as the auction is barely a month away with this beauty scheduled to roll across the blocks on March 9, 2013.
We’ve read that this particular 908 was a test-chassis to the Targa Florio winning model (now owned by Jerry Seinfeld we believe) and we should have more history on it in the coming days. We will update this post once we have more info so be sure to check back.
The estimate for this Porsche 908/3 is between $1,400,000 and $1,700,000. However, we expect the hammer will drop well above $2MM and with market conditions as they are, the sky is the limit. As usual, we’ll be at Amelia Island again this year and will be tweeting from the auction and updating our Facebook page so be sure to follow us on Twitter or check us out on Facebook if you’re not doing so already.
For even more pictures of this incredible piece of Porsche history, or the five other Porsches currently scheduled to be sold, check out the original listings on the RM site.
