The Porsche Carrera Cup North America weekend at Indianapolis produced new milestones, fresh winners, and decisive championship shifts. Aaron Jeansonne broke through for his first career victory in Saturday’s race, a day after Zachary Vanier triumphed on Friday. With their wins, seven different drivers have now stood atop the podium this season, the most in series history.
Vanier, driving for JDX Racing, seized the lead on the opening lap of Race 1 and defended through two restarts to score his second victory of the year. Ryan Yardley climbed to second, edging ahead in the overall points standings, while Jeansonne secured his first podium in third. GMG Racing’s Patrick Mulcahy captured his first Pro-Am win after early contact eliminated class leaders, and Scott Blind controlled the Masters class for his eighth victory of the campaign.
On Saturday, Jeansonne converted pole into victory for Kellymoss, delivering his maiden win after a strong debut season. Yardley’s second runner-up finish extended his new lead over Riley Dickinson in the Pro championship, while Vanier charged from sixth to third. James Sofronas earned the Pro-Am win after Alan Metni was penalized, with JP Martinez salvaging second to keep the points lead. Blind repeated in Masters, sealing the class championship with two rounds to spare.
With four races left, Yardley leads Dickinson by 10 points in the Pro class. Martinez continues to control Pro-Am, while Blind has clinched the Masters title after an unbeaten run at Indianapolis.
