More than 25 years have passed since Boston’s Bill Buckner let a slow roller up the first base line slip through his legs during game 6 of the championship (causing the Sox to lose the game and ultimately the series). While what happened took only an instant, the memory lives on in the minds of Boston baseball fans to this day. One bad play defined what was otherwise an excellent career. Even though the Sox have gone on to win the Championship since then, there are some Boston fans who still can’t forgive. Perhaps that’s why this 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo, once owned by Bill Buckner has yet to sell.
A local New England car, this particular 930 has been listed a few times in the past with even higher pricing than the current asking price of $55,000 (see it here on Craigslist).
With only 32,000 original miles and finished in what is thought to be the original Guards Red with gold BBS rims, the price doesn’t seem too bad. However, in these parts, even after “reversing the curse”, it’s possible this Porsche will never sell locally. Perhaps the seller would be better off listing it some where other than Red Sox Nation?
