Over the course of a 24-hour race almost anything can (and does) happen. Case in point, the picture below.
This broke through the splitter & tub and then into the front of the car.. By the way we are out of the race pic.twitter.com/2b6UpcUdyC

Andy tells Fox News exactly what happened in the video below.
Amazingly, the damage to the Porsche wasn’t more severe.

In fact, when the 911 GT America first came into the pits Andy thought they were out of the race. Remarkably, the crew was able to put the Porsche back together and the team managed to finish the race in 11th place thanks in part to the attrition of many competitors.
Crew fixed it! Back on track! Thank you crew! Thank you @magnusracing, FlexBox, @theZCLIP & @childrenstumor pic.twitter.com/04OWFXhbxw

Those familiar with Mangus Racing, and their humor filled press releases, won’t be surprised by the crew’s ability to quickly name the dead possum “BoP” or Ballast of Possum. In fact, shortly after Andy’s first tweet the hastag #AvengeBallast appeared and the poor deceased marsupial even got its own twitter account. I, for one, can’t wait to see how the team handles this in their post race wrap-up.
