We’re all pretty excited when we take delivery of a new Porsche. For some it’s a life long dream come true, for others it’s the simple excitement of having control over that much horsepower, and for others it’s a way to impress their girlfriend. At least that appears to be the case in a story we just read.
According to The Daily Courier, out of Prescott, Arizona, a police officer saw a man driving a blue Porsche at speeds “much faster than the rest of traffic. Seeing this, the cop clocked the Porsche using radar and found it to be traveling well above the speed limit and turned to pursue. Catching up to the Porsche at a stop light, but still 8 to 10 car lengths behind, the officer heard the Porsche accelerate loudly and then lost site of it. Putting the police car into overdrive, the police finally caught up with the Porsche some distance later and clocked it again on radar, this time at 91 mph in a 35 mph zone.
After getting the driver of the Porsche to pull over the officer told him that, “his actions were extremely unsafe for other motorists” and reminded him that “he was not a professional driver on a (closed) course.” The driver, who was accompanied in the Porsche by a woman, agreed and said he was “showing off his new car“. Further, he went on to admit that his actions were “dumb“. Apparently, the cop agreed as they arrested him, towed his car, found a handgun inside (no word on if it was legally possessed) and booked him on misdemeanor charge of criminal speeding.
