Porsche’s Facebook fans seem to be multiplying at an exponential rate. It was just this past February that Porsche celebrated hitting 5 million fans by announcing they would build a very special 911 Carrera 4S based on fan voted options. As of today, a short six months later, Porsche is closing in on 6 million fans (5.8+ million) and they plan on officially announcing the second part of their 5 million fan celebration on Monday, but we got the scoop here first on FLATSIXES.com.
Starting on Saturday, August 3rd (although it looks like it’s live right now to us) fans of Porsche’s official Facebook page will have the opportunity to win an all expenses paid trip to Silverstone for themselves and a friend. This new contest uses Facebook technology to determine how many “friends” you have that are also fans of Porsche’s official Facebook page. The winner will be the person connected with the most Porsche Facebook fans.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. A lot of you already can think of a few people (including us) with 1000s and 1000s of friends who also happen to be fans of Porsche. However, there’s a slight catch. Those “friends” have to publicly like Porsche. This means that those friends of yours that have their privacy settings locked down tight won’t get counted. However, there’s a very simple way for you to change that.
How Your Friends Can Change Their Settings to Count as a Porsche Fan
1. Tell them to go to their profile, click “more” and choose “likes”.
2. Have them click on “Edit Privacy” in the Likes-section.
3.Select “Public” in the section “Other”
That’s it. It doesn’t expose any personal info and it’s only opening up privacy on certain likes (those in the “other” category. With 3 Easy steps they can publicly show that their fans of Porsche on Facebook and help you win a trip to Silverstone for a Porsche experience of a lifetime. If you think they might be confused on how to do it, simply forward them this post and instructions or share this post on their timeline.
