In a recent initiative, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) has partnered with RM Sotheby’s to auction a distinctive 911 S/T model. The auction aims to raise funds for the American Red Cross, which provides assistance to individuals affected by various disasters, including recent wildfires in California and flooding in North Carolina. The auction is set to conclude on February 20th and takes place through RM Sotheby’s online auction platform.
The 911 S/T being auctioned is notable for being the only one sold from PCNA’s internal vehicle pool and is unassigned to any customer in the United States. This specific vehicle is numbered 1,919 out of a total of 1,963 units produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911. Additional auction items include a limited-edition Porsche Design timepiece and a signed owner’s manual pouch by Andreas Preuninger, Director of the GT model line.
Timo Resch, President and CEO of PCNA, stated, “This auction is not just about a rare car, it’s about making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.” The American Red Cross responds to over 65,000 disasters annually, providing essential support to affected individuals. Since the onset of the California wildfires, the organization has offered over 14,500 overnight stays, 128,000 meals, and more than 102,000 relief supplies.
The auctioned 911 S/T has undergone a meticulous run-in process in Europe, accumulating 932 miles. It features the optional Heritage Design Package, which includes a unique Shore Blue Metallic paint and Ceramica-colored wheels. The vehicle is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six engine that produces 518 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Inside, the car boasts Full Bucket Seats with a Classic Cognac cloth center and black pinstripes, along with two-tone leather trim. Additional features enhancing its appeal include a front axle lift system, a larger fuel tank, auto-dimming mirrors, rear Park Assist, and a Bose Surround Sound audio system. This auction not only highlights a rare vehicle but also aims to support the vital work of the American Red Cross in times of need.
