Earlier today Porsche release worldwide delivery figures showing exactly 20,831 Porsches handed over to customers in June of 2015. All regions of the globe were up on a year over year basis and deliveries as a whole are up 30% year-to-date as compared to the same period last year. Most significantly, China took the lead of Porsche’s largest single market by a large volume with 1450+ more deliveries than in the U.S.
“In the first half of the year, Porsche was carrying forward its successful growth trajectory”, says Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “We continue watching the development of the global markets very attentively. The general conditions in North America are remarkably well at the moment. Looking at the European markets, we are cautiously optimistic yet remain vigilant so we can react flexibly to demand, if need be. In China, Porsche has performed well so far in a difficult market environment.”
Europe saw an increase of 12% over the same month last year for a total of 6880 new Porsches. Porsche’s home market of Germany, while positive, showed just a .7% increase in deliveries to 2,499 vs. 2,481 in June of 2014. On the Chinese market Porsche delivered approximately 5,700 vehicles, an increase of 71% compared with June 2014.
Sales of the Macan more than doubled to 7,281 total deliveries (it wasn’t available in all markets in June of 2014) while the Cayenne was us nearly 20%. The Cayman market continues to grow and contribute to Porsche’s overall growth with an increase of 28.5% as compared to the same time last year.
