These days when you buy a book you tend to have choices. Normally, you can choose to purchase an electronic version for the e-reader of your choice, a hard or soft copy version if you like the feel of real paper or want a coffee table book, or even an audio book for those that prefer someone else to do the heavy lifting and just want to listen along. “Porsche Sounds” from publisher earBooks lets you combine the sounds of an audio book (with a slight twist) along with the heft, feel and visual impressions of a lavishly put together coffee book.
“Porsche Sounds” was first published a little over four years ago, you can see our original review of it here. Like the original, this new version (in both German and English) features a thorough history of the marque along with milestones and motorsport.

Should You Buy It?
If you have the original from 2012, I’m not sure the changes and revision mentioned above are enough to recommend this new version. However, if you didn’t buy it when it first came out, then yes, “Porsche Sounds” should be part of your collection. If not for the book itself, which is worth the price alone, then for the CD that accompanies the book complete with an audio library featuring the exhaust note of 30 of Porsche’s most storied models.
