Two-Seven-Seven, the red, white, and blue 1971 has almost become as famous as its owner, the dreadlocked and bearded Californian née Brit, Mr. Magnus Walker. Last October when Magnus was in Raleigh, NC, for the Porsche By Design event at the North Carolina Museum of Art, eGarage had Frazer Spowart follow him around with video cameras for a few days, documenting the trip. Having brought 277 with him from SoCal to NoCar, Magnus didn’t need a rental, and could bomb around on the undulating back country roads in a familiar steed. While the scenery wasn’t familiar, the car was one he was well adjusted to driving.
As usual, the Frazer and crew have assembled some altogether gorgeous videography, and with an interesting subject like Magnus, there is never a dull moment. Whether lapping around Virginia International Raceway, calmly pontificating the differences between his Southern California home and this new foreign land of North Carolina, or providing some staccato bursts of engine as he rips through the gears, the video simply makes for an enjoyable watch. It is a joint venture that is sure to please.
