According to a story in the Daily Mirror, a woman in Shenyang, China had just taken delivery of her new Porsche Boxster when she totaled it as she pulled out of the dealer’s lot.
Porsche salesman Qiang Chiu said: “We were still waving her goodbye when she shot forward and there was a tremendous bang.”
Apparently, the new Porsche driver mixed up the pedals and hit the gas when she should have hit the brakes. Unfortunately, she rear-ended at least two other cars (one of which was a Mercedes) and damaged two others. All told, the damage is estimated to be at least twice the value of her Boxster. To add insult to injury, it looks like the police will be holding her liable as well.
Police spokesman Ho Hsia said: “All the other cars were stationary so she bears the responsibility for the accident and is liable for compensation.
Let’s be careful out there people!
