UDPATE: 10/06/2015: Porsche Confirms Cayman GT4 Clubsport Production
By now, most of you have probably read our first post on the Porsche Cayman GT4. If you’re anything like us, you were blown away. Porsche took quite a few components from the 911 GT3 and worked them into a beautiful new package. While our post does a great job of outlining the specification, the EVO video below provides even more information directly from Andreas Prueninger, head of GT car development at Porsche Motorsport. There were two big takeaways from this video:
1. Porsche is offering a club sport package for the GT4 that consists of a black painted, screwed in rear roll cage, the preparation for a battery off switch, a fire extinguisher with aluminum holster and a six-point harness for the driver. A second six-point harness for the passenger is available as a separate option. Unfortunately, due to U.S. regulations, it won’t be available here. Pricing in the German market is 3.927,00 € according to Porsche’s web-site.
2. It sounds like the GT3 RS will have a manual option! Right around the 4:30 minute mark AP talks about a project that was running in parallel with the Cayman GT4 and alludes to how it has synergies with the GT4. Is it the GT3 RS? We’d like to think so but only time will tell.
Watch the video below from EVO and see for yourself.
