This video drew me in from the very beginning. What’s not to like? Good production values, a host (Charles Morgan) with strong presentation skills and one of Porsche’s best road going production cars, ever. The 993 GT2. As I began the video I wrote the title to this post as it seemed that’s the direction we were going in. However, the longer I watched, the longer I waited. Sure the cinematography is excellent and the video is eminently watchable. The problem in my mind, however, is two-fold. First, Morgan never really give specifics. For instance he say “it’s very light and has amazing technology“. Well, how light is it and what’s the amazing technology? Second, and perhaps more importantly, the 993 featured in the video is apparently not an original GT2. Instead, it’s a GT2 built out of parts by an enthusiast/collector. It may be close to the real thing, but it’s not really, is it? Am I being too critical? I mean I did watch the whole video, twice, and I loved the ending. It just seems there was a missed opportunity here to give lots of great technical info and specifications. What do you think?
