Any Porsche owner that liked to browse the classifieds will be familiar with SloanCars.com However, not everyone was lucky enough to get to know the man behind the business, Richard Sloan. On June 16, 2016, the Porsche community lost a great champion and friend with Richard’s passing.

We first met Richard when researching the history of a 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo S previously owned by Jerry Seinfeld. At the time, we were a new web-site, with just a few readers, yet Richard still found the time to talk with us and give us names of others to talk to regarding the Porsche in question. I was amazed considering it wasn’t even a car he was selling.

Back then Richard was already well known in the collector community for having access (either as his own stock or at his shop on consignment) to an endless parade of low mileage, first class air-cooled Porsches. Today, thanks in a large part to Richard’s love of Porsche, his insistence on only offering the best cars, social media and the work of his son Brett, SloanCars.com is known the world over for the breadth and depth of their Porsche offerings. Over the past 8-years I got to know Richard (and his son Brett) quite well and consider them both friends more than business associates.
This is the Richard I remember!
