We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for almost two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. In all that time, we’ve published these every other week. Well, enough of you have spoken up that we’re going to try a weekly format, with two of us picking selections, so check back often. This week, we’ve assembled five more Porsches for you to peruse, including an uber rare 356A with a Sunroof, a 40th anniversary 911, a neat 911ST Replica that raced at Rennsport, a 997 “Art Car”, and a full-boat Gemballa 996 Turbo that looks like a 997. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.
1. 2002 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo With Gemballa 997 Bodykit For Sale
I’m not really sure where to start with this one, it’s just so odd that I almost could see myself liking it, maybe. What started out as a nice performance Porsche in stock specification has turned into a gaudy over-the-top attention machine. That said, I’m a sucker for pearl white paint and 997 headlights. The Gemballa kit itself actually isn’t that bad in the scheme of things, but starting with a 996 is an interesting choice. The interior hasn’t been updated at all, and still features all of the terrible quality that 996s are known for. The listing does say that the car has received a few performance modifications, so it isn’t all show and no go. However, the 500 claimed horsepower (no dyno numbers) is still less than you’d get with a 997 Turbo, which can be had these days for less than the $90,000 Buy It Now price. Maybe just get one of those?

2. 2007 Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S Cabriolet Art Car For Sale
Here’s another interesting bit of Porsche that someone has thrown their own personal taste toward and expects someone else to love it as much as they have I suppose. The art was hand painted by Jonathan Matas, and the original artwork has been clear coated over to preserve it. The car also has a lot of new maintenance done, which is a boon, I suppose. The downside is that the car is equipped with a Tiptronic transmission. I kind of dig it, but I’m not sure how much it would be worth. Certainly not more than a stock 997 Carrera S, right? The seller is moving this one on because he’s restoring two 930s, so I guess I can’t feel bad for him.

3. 1970 Porsche 911T Built To ST Spec For Sale
Now this is a Porsche that I can really get behind. I believe I saw this 911 running at Rennsport, and while it melted into a full field of other long-hood 911s, the eye searing yellow would have it stand out at most other vintage racing events or car shows. And that’s to say nothing of how exciting it would look on the street next to Toyotas and Hondas. The tartan seat inserts are worth the purchase price alone, I’m sure.

4. 2004 Porsche 911 (996) 40th Anniversary Special Edition For Sale
I’ve always been intrigued by the 996 40th Anniversary Edition. This Porsche received special chrome MY05-style wheels, as well as a 996 Turbo/Carrera 4S style front bumper, and yet was still a narrow-body car. Each one was individually numbered, and they are getting harder and harder to find. This is a unique Porsche that you probably won’t see many of. The fact that all of this car’s unique pieces are still intact, including the fitted luggage, is pretty cool. A new IMS bearing and some recent service is even better.

5. 1958 Porsche 356A Super Sunroof Coupe For Sale
Talk about rare, a 356 Sunroof Coupe is about as rare as they get. The paint isn’t perfect, the body has a few dents, and the interior has a lived-in feel to it. Mechanically, however, this 356 has lots of recent service, including a recent engine rebuild. That makes this Porsche about perfect for my tastes. The 1600 Super engine is a real ripsnorter of a motor, and combined with the look of its patina and a sunroof, this 356 is ready for anything. Lose the bumpers for a real Cal-look ride, and go for as many drives as you can.
