Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) saw another month of year-on-year growth this March with stronger than expected 911 and 718 sales. It seems that people are starting to get into the spring mood, purchasing more cars in March 2018 than Porsche has ever sold in any previous March. This continues the company’s trend of record months, and translates to a nearly 10% growth in the first quarter from 2017.
The still-relatively-new Panamera (with new model variants) is selling strong, as expected. We did not expect to see a 35% increase in 911 sales or 718 sales up 45%. Perhaps US-based dealerships are finally getting the increase in sports car deliveries that they requested last year. Both Cayenne and Macan sales waned slightly in March compared to last year, but are still the juggernauts of PCNA’s lineup. Macan sales, in fact, remain so strong that it exceeds the sales of any two other models.
“We are pleased to see such a strong customer response for the first three months of the year, especially for our Porsche 911, the 718 model line and the new generation Panamera,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of PCNA. “Overall, this is an excellent first quarter for Porsche in the United States.”
PCNA dealer sales of certified pre-owned models in the US continues to soar at 2,029 vehicles last month, up 28.2% year-over-year.
