German tuning firm TECHART has a history of building some of the most bonkers Porsche-based tuner cars in the world, and the new lineup of components for the 911 GTS are here to keep that flame alive. The 911 GTS is an incredible package right out of the box, especially if you tick the “lightweight package” option box. That car makes use of an incredible 3-liter turbocharged flat six to make nearly the same power as the naturally aspirated 911 GT3, but for a whole lot less money. Everything its missing TECHART is more than happy to supply for you. For example, it now offers a Powerkit that pumps up the power of a GTS by 80 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque to a GT3-beating 560 horses! TECHART will also get you a set of lightweight alloy wheels, carbon bodywork, advanced aerodynamics, and clubsport interior fittings. Yeah, that sounds like a good way to go if you can’t get a GT3 allocation.
With the Powerkit fitted the GTS drops three tenths of a second from its 0-60 time, ripping off a 3.1-second acceleration run. The Powerkit also removes the speed limiter of the GTS, bumping its top speed to 199 miles per hour! This power upgrade doesn’t have to be permanently on tap, either. Using the GTS’ steering wheel-mounted driving mode switch, you can activate the “intelligent power upgrade”. All it takes is switching the car into Sport or Sport Plus modes. According to TECHART, the car maintains its standard fuel consumption and tune in normal mode, so you don’t have to suffer at the pump if you don’t want to.
TECHART can fit your GTS with a fresh set of directional lightweight alloy wheels, which is calls “Formula VII”, in a center locking fitment for the GTS. These wheels are available in 9×20 front and 11.5×21 rear fitment, and while TECHART doesn’t quote a number for its wheel weights, but it does call them “lightweight” so we can (hopefully) assume they’re lighter than stock. Everyone knows unsprung weight is the best weight to get rid of! Either way, the wheels are sprung by a custom TECHART set of coilovers that work with and without PASM. These are height adjustable, and can lower your GTS from between 15 mm and 40 mm (about .5 inches and 1.6 inches). You can opt for a noselift kit that will raise the front of your 911 by 1.6 inches at the press of a button, in case your 911 didn’t come with that option from the factory.
On the outside of the car, TECHART will fit your 911 GTS with wind tunnel-tested aero components. There’s a front splitter, a bumper grilles, and custom covers, as well as carbon side skirts and a rear diffuser add-on to promote downforce. The new TECHART carbon front trunk lid removes about 6 pounds from the front of the car, and adds a pair of muscular “air shafts” to the design. Out back you get a new roof-mounted spoiler to feed turbulent air directly into your choice of a massive fixed rear wing, or an augmented spoiler which retains the factory active aero decklid.
Inside the car you’ll see a full spate of TECHART upholstery upgrades. You can option a sports steering wheel, an FIA-legal roll bar, and FIA homologated 6-point racing harnesses. On top of that you can do the traditional TECHART thing of having all of the factory components refitted in matched Alcantara, leather, heritage fabrics, or carbon fiber.
So far TECHART hasn’t announced any pricing for these components, but you can bet they won’t be inexpensive. If you want them for your GTS, I guess give them a call.
