Porsche has announced the availability of Manthey Kits in the United States, designed to enhance two of its most track-oriented 911 models: the Type 992 911 GT3 RS and the Type 991 911 GT2 RS. The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS features significant aerodynamic modifications, including a larger front lip with carbon fiber reinforcements and new wing profiles. These changes, along with revised Gurney flaps and dual dive planes, increase front axle downforce. The kit also replaces the rear window with a carbon fiber panel, reducing weight by 25 percent. A carbon fiber shark fin, inspired by the 963 race car, enhances cornering stability and promotes airflow for cooling. The rear wing and diffuser modifications further boost downforce without increasing drag, achieving over 2,200 lbs. of downforce at 177 mph.
The semi-active coilover suspension of the 911 GT3 RS has been adjusted to accommodate the increased downforce, with spring rates rising by 30 percent at the front and 15 percent at the rear. The suspension system includes multiple sensors that allow for rapid adjustments to the dampers based on driving conditions. The brake system has been upgraded with braided steel lines for improved feedback and responsiveness.
For customization, the 911 GT3 RS offers options such as illuminated carbon fiber door sill guards and various Manthey decals. A towing eye can also be added for track use.
The Manthey Performance Kit for the Type 991 GT2 RS includes matched chassis, aerodynamic, and brake components, featuring magnesium alloy wheels from the Weissach Package. The aerodynamic enhancements include additional flaps on the front spoiler and modifications to the rear spoiler and diffuser, which collectively increase downforce significantly at speed. The coilover suspension allows for multiple adjustments, and the lightweight wheels contribute to overall performance.
Both Manthey Kits are available through Manthey Certified Porsche Centers in the U.S., with 45 centers currently certified to sell and install these kits. The kits were first offered in 2023 and are designed to make the vehicles more track-focused. Orders for the kits can be placed now, with expected delivery by Spring 2025. The MSRP for the 911 GT3 RS Manthey Kit is $116,160, while the 911 GT2 RS Manthey Kit is priced at $113,140, excluding taxes and installation costs.
