A few weeks back a friend of mine texts me a photo. It’s a Porsche 912 in a garage that was basically put away and forgotten about 23 years ago. The property was being sold and my friend was contacted since he’s into old cars. He took one look at the car and bought it, then he texted me a photo. I asked him to hold off doing anything to the car until I talked to my pal Larry Kosilla as I thought it would be a great story for Larry’s YouTube/DRIVE:Clean show on how you resurrect the exterior on a “barn” find. Larry loved the idea.
The car was moved to my friend’s garage and not touched until Larry and I showed up with the film crew. Watch as we assess the find, remove years of accumulated filth and grime, and initiate the paint correction phase on this 912’s “Irish Green” shell. You’ll learn more about caring for your Porsche’s paint then you ever have before.
In case you’re wondering, while the video doesn’t show it, the owner changed the oil and plugs and drained the gas before starting up his newly refreshed Porsche.
