Just last month we wondered if any of the 10 Porsches from the Don Davis Collection would set records when they crossed the auction block. This past Saturday we found out. According to RM Auctions the entire event was resounding success achieving more than $21 million with 100% of the lots sold. Out of that group, 10 Porsches were sold for a combined $2,483,250.
The biggest Porsche sale of the bunch was the 959 Komfort edition, shown above, that sold for $770,000 including buyer’s premium; a new record for a 959 sold at auction.
The “bargain” of the day, in our opinion, turned out to be this 1975 Porsche 911S Targa. With matching numbers and just 40,400 miles showing on the odometer. Some lucky buyer got a bargain at $55,000.
