We’ve been compiling the best Porsche models on eBay for over a year now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. There is some great new stuff every two weeks, so check back often. We’ve tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including a ready-to-race 996 GT3 Supercup, a special edition Cayman, a well-kept 996 Turbo Cab, a 993 Carrera 4S, and a short-wheelbase 911R replica that looks like a riot. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.
1. 2008 Porsche Cayman S “Porsche Design Edition” For Sale
The “Design Edition 1″ is an interesting and unique piece. In November of 2007, Porsche Design worked with Porsche to develop this car. They were all black with matte black Porsche Design stripes, they all had 997 Turbo style 19” wheels, they all had PASM, and they came with a raft of Porsche Design goodies (A briefcase, a chronograph, a pocket knife, sunglasses, a pen, and a key ring, everything in matching black). Inside, the cars had practically every surface swathed in Alcantara and leather. Only 777 of these were built for 2008, and they are individually numbered. This one supposedly retailed at $76,500. As of this writing, the reserve hadn’t been met, but if this could be purchased in the mid 30s, it’d probably be one of the better buys on the market. Nicely equipped, gorgeous to look at, and a ton of fun to drive.

2. 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S For Sale
If you’ve been watching the 993 market, you’ve seen Turbos and Turbo S models absolutely skyrocket in the last 3 years or so. More recently, the Carrera 4S has expanded to fill the market void behind those two. It wasn’t that long ago that you could find a nice C4S for really not that much cash outlay, but these days its getting harder to find one for less than 6-figures. This Arena Red over Cashmere example is absolutely gorgeous, and has only 30,000 miles on the clock. The Buy-It-Now price of 109K isn’t exactly frightening for a car in this condition. I’m not sure how much higher these cars will go, only time will tell.

3. 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet For Sale
I’ve said for a long time, and will continue to contend, that the 996 Turbo is one of the best performance bargains on the market. Runners that need work are frequently dipping into the 30,000 dollar range. This one, however, needs absolutely nothing. With only 11,000 miles on the odometer, and pristine everything, this Guards Red on Beige car is loaded down with options (including the *expensive* PCCB option), this car is ready to be added to anyone’s collection. Just 10 years ago, this car sold for almost 150 thousand dollars, and the asking price is less than half that now. I’m not sure they will get the 74 grand they’re asking for, but it’s damn nice. If someone with a 993 C4S was looking for a 996 Turbo Cabriolet, they could probably sell that, buy this, and end up with quite a bit of extra cash in hand.

4. 2001 Porsche 996 GT3 Supercup For Sale
A real-deal 996 Supercup, this fast machine could be the ride of your life. Everyone who has ever test driven one of these has purchased one, I swear that’s not that much of an exaggeration. The 996 version of the Supercup doesn’t hold a candle to the 991 or even 997 editions, but those cars are still quite expensive. This one can be had for under 80 grand. Considering that street GT3s are starting to get into that price range, this might be the deal of your life if you’ve wanted a track-focused 911.
This car was originally raced in Supercup by Alessandro Zampedri in 2001 (and features his signature!). The engine was updated to 2004 spec during a rebuild not long ago that has only a handful of hours logged. This car appears to be fresh and ready to go. You could probably step into this car, and with enough talent, win a PCA championship next year. Lots of spares are included with the car, including four sets of spare wheels, brake pads, a cool suit, radio equipment, etc. Includes a current PCA logbook, and remains legal for GTC3. The purchase price of the car even includes a 26′ Haulmark trailer. Weekend warriors, get your checkbooks ready!

5. 1966 Porsche 911 2.3L Twin Plug “R” Replica For Sale
The 911R is one of my favorite cars from Porsches history, as it was the first car to really get the 911 its start in motorsport, and it wasn’t even introduced until the car had been on the market for 4 years. This isn’t one of the handful of Rs produced, but it’s a relatively well done replica, and should be an absolute blast to run down a back country road. Based on a 1966 short-wheelbase car, this beauty has received a full bevvy of upgrades, including a 2.3 liter twin-plug performance engine (205hp at the wheels), a built 901 transmission, fiberglass bumpers, hood, decklid, doors, and fenders, lexan windows, and a full boat suspension overhaul. All of that conspires to a very lightweight 911 with about twice as much power as it would have had in 1966.
My only complaint is that air conditioning was added to this car. If I were the buyer, I’d strip that out immediately and head for the hills to get lost (and find myself) for a few tanks of fuel. This car seems priced pretty right for the current market. A real 911R is probably close to a million these days, but this one could be yours for under 100K. I only wish I could hear what it sounds like through the eBay listing.
