You may remember that a Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution just sold for $3.1 Million at RM Sotheby’s Monaco auction. Well, perhaps in honor of that sake (perhaps it’s just a coincidence, too) British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan shows us the way around Silverstone in a very similar version; the 1997 ‘Playstation’ 911 GT1 Evo.
Right off the bat you notice how it sounds like a proper race car due to the waste gate popping with the Turbo. Surprisingly, Jordan feels that the GT1 Evo is “friendly” unlike the 962 he drove recently. No paddles shifters in this 911. Instead, you’re busy with your feet and hands, engaged in the driving of the GT1. AT one point he’s out of breath from shifting so much. That’s driver engagement!
I”m really liking these Goodwood Road & Racing videos and can’t wait to see what they drive next.
