Earlier tonight the number of possible Porsche 918 Sypders on the road looks to be reduced by one. According to the limited information we have available at this point, most of it from Twitter and Instagram, the Porsche world lost its first E-hybrid supercar to a fueling fire of unknown origins.

Speculation is rampant about what could have caused the inferno, but at this point it’s simply too soon to tell. We’ll fill you in as soon as we hear more. What is clear is that this one seems to be a total loss. Video below is NSFW due to language.

UPDATE: The owner and driver of the 918, Canadian Financier Michael Wekerle, was unharmed and able to get safely away before the 918 was lost to the conflagration.
