After three years, Porsche’s Rennsport Reunion returns. Once again on the West Coast, the legendary event returns to Laguna Seca for September 27-30th, 2018. Rennsport Reunion began in 2001 at Lime Rock Park, followed by two events at Daytona International Speedway in 2004 and 2007. The last two iterations have taken place at Laguna Seca; a trend Porsche shows no signs of stopping.
As with past years, the Reunion will bring together Porsche race cars, as well as factory drivers, designers and engineers. Porsche Cars North America is hosting the four day program, which features both on-track racing, as well as a Concours d’Elegance.
According to Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America; “Choosing the Monterey Peninsula once again for our unique Porsche family reunion builds upon what we learned from previous Rennsport Reunions. We had close to 60,000 fans, enthusiasts and owners come through the gates of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to celebrate with us in 2015, and California’s picturesque central coast provides an ideal backdrop. The Golden State as a whole has always been like a second home to Porsche.”
During the last running of the event, more than 1,300 Porsche models supplied by both enthusiasts and the manufacturer filled the show fields and race grids. The event is said to have been filled to capacity, from the paddock to the parking lots.
