Porsche’s North American headquarters, known colloquially as One Porsche Drive, has a delightful selection of historically significant cars on display at all times. The cars rotate every couple of months, and there is usually a theme. The last time I was there, it was packed with prototypes and I got to lay eyes on the early-1990s Boxster concept car and the four-door 928 prototype. It’s an incredible place to be, inside an incredible building. It’s not as big or as impressive as the proper museum in Germany, but with a dozen cars in total it’s nice to spend more time perusing each one. You’re more likely to learn something about a Porsche you may have never seen before.
Obviously it’s impractical to visit One Porsche Drive in Atlanta right now, so Porsche has allowed us all an opportunity to virtually walk around in there and learn a thing or two.
The current displays include the 20th anniversary of the Porsche Track Experience and a celebration of the fan favorite GT race cars – in total the collection features an estimated combined 3,500 hp of some of the most powerful and dynamic cars Porsche has ever created. And just look at that gorgeous 550 Spyder.
